Employees of the Unified Judicial System are not subject to the state’s Civil Service Commission’s policies and procedures, and are not, therefore, selected for employment through the state civil service process.
Drug-Free Workplace
Being impaired by alcohol, drugs, medications or other intoxicating substances while on duty, is strictly prohibited as outlined in the Code of Conduct for employees of the UJS. Any employee involved in this activity may be subject to discipline, up to and including dismissal. In addition, you may be subject to criminal penalties.
'At-Will' Employment
The Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania is an 'at-will' employer that presumes that all employees have the right, upon giving proper notice, to terminate their employment at their own free will. Similarly, the Unified Judicial System reserves the right, upon giving proper notice, to terminate any individual's employment when such action is determined to be in the best interest of the Unified Judicial System.
