Membership requirements for the Court of Judicial Discipline

The Court appoints four members: two judges (not a senior judge) from the Courts of Common Pleas, the Superior Court or the Commonwealth Court; one magisterial district judge; and one non-lawyer elector. All members must be residents of the Commonwealth. No member, during the member’s term, may hold office in a political party or political organization. Except for a judicial member, no member of the Court, during the member’s term, may hold a compensated public office or public appointment.
