Pennsylvania Courts Launch Effort to Protect Older Adults from Financial Exploitation

Committed to protecting Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable citizens, the Pennsylvania Courts today released a new video aimed at protecting older adults from financial scams and exploitation.

The video titled “Elder Abuse: Financial Exploitation and How Pennsylvanians Can Stay Safe,” is being released during the court’s recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and features a panel of experts from Pennsylvania’s Advisory Council on Elder Justice in the Courts.

Drug Delivery Resulting in Death Charges Decline in Pennsylvania

In Pennsylvania, a drug delivery resulting in death (DDRD) charge, also known as an offense, is issued to a person who intentionally administers, dispenses, delivers, gives, prescribes, sells or distributes any controlled substance, and another person died as a result of using the substance.

From 2024 to 2025, DDRD charges decreased by 22% and convictions decreased by 72%.
