Highlighting Pennsylvania’s Mental Health Courts

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Pennsylvania Courts today released an infographic highlighting data from the state’s mental health courts.

In 2024, 72% of all discharged participants graduated successfully from these treatment programs and among those graduates, there was a 112% increase in employment.

Pennsylvania Supreme Court Recognizes Law Day; Highlights Importance of the Rule of Law

Chief Justice of Pennsylvania Debra Todd marked Law Day, honoring the role of the rule of law in Pennsylvania and across the nation. 

In 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower declared May 1 as the first “Law Day,” recognizing that the guarantee of fundamental rights of individuals under the law is “the heart and sinew of our nation” and distinguishes our governmental system from those that “rule by might alone.” Three years later, in 1961, Congress designated May 1st as Law Day.

Butler County Courts Advise of Reported Phone Scam

The scams involve calls that “spoof” or mimic court telephone numbers. During the spoof call, those being targeted are told they have missed a critical court proceeding where they were subpoenaed as a witness or did not appear for jury service.
