A Closer Look at Protection from Abuse Orders in Pennsylvania

In 2024, the number of new Protection from Abuse (PFA) orders filed statewide increased by <1% from 2023. A PFA is a civil court order to help protect victims of domestic violence, providing relief from abuse by an intimate partner, family or household member. Pennsylvania Supreme Court to Hold Oral Argument Session in Pittsburgh

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania will hold oral argument sessions on Tues., Oct. 7, and Wed., Oct. 8 in the Supreme Court courtroom in the City-County Building, beginning at 9:30 a.m. each day.

Pennsylvania Courts Recognize International Day of Older Persons

In recognition of International Day of Older Persons on Oct. 1, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania is reaffirming its commitment to protecting the rights, safety and dignity of older Pennsylvanians through the work of the Office of Elder Justice in the Courts (OEJC) and the Advisory Council on Elder Justice in the Courts (Advisory Council).
