A closer look at Protection from Abuse Orders in Pa

More than 39,000 new protection from abuse (PFA) petitions were filed statewide in 2018 according to the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts. A PFA is a civil order that protects victims of domestic violence, providing relief from abuse by an intimate partner, family or household member. The infographic below highlights 2018 PFA data including the statewide number of PFA petitions filed over the last five years, the top 10 counties with the highest number of PFA cases and the percentages of PFA case outcomes.
