Clarification for Drivers about Philadelphia Traffic Court

News Article

June 21, 2013

State legislation signed by Gov. Tom Corbett earlier this week transferred the authority of the Philadelphia Traffic Court to the Philadelphia Municipal Court, Traffic Division. The courthouse remains located at 800 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, Pa., 19123, where defendants may still respond to their citations, pay their fines, contest their motor vehicle violations or resolve their issues regarding impounded vehicles.

Defendants may still contact the court at 215-686-1675 for general information.

Earlier this week, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Chief Justice Ronald D. Castille said moving Traffic Court was an important step because it would “help to restore public confidence that all cases will be fairly decided.”
