President Judge Stevens’ Supreme Court Nomination Advances

The Pennsylvania Senate Judiciary Committee today unanimously recommended that the full Senate consider the nomination of Superior Court President Judge Correale F. Stevens to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court.
A two-thirds majority of the state’s 50 senators is required for President Judge Stevens to take a seat on the seven-member bench of the Supreme Court.
President Judge Stevens outlined his career in public service to committee members, which includes time as Luzerne County's district attorney and a state representative as well as his time as a jurist.
