Chief Justice of Pennsylvania Ronald D. Castille announced that 47 claimants who were allegedly bilked by a Wilkes-Barre attorney will receive $3.25 million from a special fund supported by attorney registration fees.

The payments will come from the Pennsylvania Lawyers Fund for Client Security, which was created by the Supreme Court in 1982 to reimburse clients whose funds were misappropriated by their attorneys. The fund receives all of its financial resources from Pennsylvania’s attorneys as part of the annual attorney registration fee.
