Pennsylvania Supreme Court Renews Blair County DUI Court Accreditation

News Article

October 25, 2018

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has renewed the accreditation of the Blair County DUI Court, commending the specialty court program for its use of best practices in the field of problem-solving courts.

Blair County’s DUI Court, established in 2005, was awarded its initial accreditation in 2015 – with recertification in 2018. By maintaining its accreditation, Blair County is better positioned to receive additional state and federal program grant funding to move the program forward.

Accreditation is a thorough examination of the 10 key components and best practice standards, which were established by the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, and renewal is a review of their progress and continued adherence to the components and standards.

Pennsylvania has 25 accredited problem-solving courts statewide, which include DUI, veterans, juvenile, mental health and drug courts.
