Membership requirements for the Minor Judiciary Education Board

By statute, the Board is comprised of three persons who shall be judges of the Traffic Court of Philadelphia or magisterial district judges, three members of the Pennsylvania bar and one lay elector.

Applicants should be knowledgeable about the practice and procedure in the magisterial district courts, as well as the curriculum and coursework that is required of the fourweek certifying program for prospective minor court judges.

The Board generally meets four times a year, typically in Harrisburg. Meetings usually last from one to two days.
