Description

This position supports the benefits team and involves direct interaction with employees to collect benefit documentation for data entry. The position also supports member's participation in all benefit programs by answering questions and collecting appropriate documentation to process a variety of benefit changes.

Primary Duties

  • Benefits Information System Support: Ensures member's participation in all benefit programs. Controls the timing and flow of benefits and member-specific information through various computer systems.
  • New Hire Processing: Drafts, updates and reviews in-processing paperwork. Completes enrollments in multiple internal and external systems to ensure appropriate level of benefits. Analyzes and resolves issues and problems.
  • Employee Status Changes (marriage, birth, divorce): Analyzes and determines necessary changes. Drafts and sends correspondence to member and insurer. Calculates and ensures appropriate rate changes are reflected in systems.
  • Dependent Status Changes (Age 26): Tracks dependent eligibility and sends appropriate communication to employee/dependent.
  • Medical Open Enrollment: Drafts and compiles information based on member's status (Active, Retired, Survivor, Cobra). Answers questions about plan options as necessary. Manages enrollment/changes in various systems and communicates actions to members.
  • Voluntary Insurance Annual Enrollment: Compiles packets of information and sends to Judiciary personnel during Annual Enrollment. Processes voluntary insurance changes requested. Notifies Payroll department of deduction changes. Compiles enrollment/change statistics from annual change period.
  • Completes benefit requests including: domestic relations orders, HIPP program employment verifications and coordination of benefit forms from insurers.
  • Prepares correspondence for requests for FMLA. Tracks and compiles forms and use of leave. Follows up with employees and answers questions.
  • Assists the Leave Administrator and provides assistance to employees and supervisors with routine leave questions.
  • Deferred Compensation: Coordinates semi-annual meetings with Deferred Compensation counselors.
  • Coordinates and schedules special events and clinics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; AND
  • One year of human resources experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training may be considered.

Additional Requirements/Preferences

  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
