Description

This is beginning-level professional information technology work. Responsibilities include system testing, end-user support, analysis and documentation for the AOPC’s administrative support application, employee online services, and applications used by the PA Board of Law Examiners.

Primary Duties

  • Tests fixes, modifications and enhancements to ensure the changes work properly and meet user requirements.
  • Develops and writes test plans and scenarios for integration, system, and regression testing.
  • Acts as a testing coordinator for large projects.
  • Analyzes information from users to determine problem resolutions; assigns severity level to the call, and forwards information to the appropriate resources.
  • Performs second-level problem determinations to identify the source of the problem in the application and suggests possible solutions to the programmer analysts and database administrators.
  • Performs first-level problem determinations to identify and isolate failure points, including hardware, network, application, training, and documentation.
  • Develops user support documentation and notifications of changes to users.
  • Assists the help desk operator, as needed, in serving as the initial point of contact for system questions and problems.
  • Develops user help text.
  • Develops and maintains the standards documents for reports, forms, and system documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree with an IT-related major or minor; AND
  • One year of related IT experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training may be considered.

Additional Requirements/Preferences

  • Strong oral and written communication and problem solving skills required.
  • Proficiency with Transact SQL, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
  • Knowledge of human resources practices is preferred.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
