Description

This technician position provides primary IT technical support to AOPC staff in the Philadelphia office. Primary responsibilities include the support, maintenance, and configuration of staff desktop PCs, laptops, thin clients, client applications, printers, monitors, and other end user devices. Additional responsibilities include the support, maintenance, and configuration of two servers, both physical and virtual, for file and print sharing and application hosting.

Primary Duties

  • Configures and troubleshoots local and network printers and multi-function printer/copier/scanning devices; installs and configures print drivers, client IP addressing, and client-printer/client-print server connectivity issues.
  • Physically unpacks, deploys, installs, and configures desktop PCs, thin clients, laptops, and mobile devices with client operating systems, client network configurations, host security, line of business applications, and office productivity software applications.
  • Utilizes system event logs to administer, troubleshoot, and resolve host client issues; utilizes client and server tools to patch client operating systems and software applications; update system BIOSs; install, uninstall, and upgrade hardware and software on client systems; client backups; and remote access.
  • Installs and supports client security solutions, such as McAfee EPO anti-virus and anti-malware, and USB security; performs on-demand malware scans under the direction of Information Technology security and management staff.
  • Configures and supports client wireless connections on wireless devices such as laptops, iPads, iPhones, Air Cards, and other smartphone devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers that perform such tasks as file sharing, print sharing, and application hosting.
  • Utilizes ticket tracking application to create, update, and close trouble tickets for client incident management.
  • Coordinates hardware repair activities with vendors and IT staff and diagnoses hardware and software problems with vendor phone support.
  • Use and assist in the use of various videoconferencing technologies such as Webex, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Participates in physical inventories of all servers, desktops, laptops, thin clients, monitors, and mobile devices; updates asset inventories in the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in any information technology field.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training may be considered.
