Description

This professional position is responsible for Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas’ fiscal operations (annual budget, purchase orders, expense accounts), human resources management (assists with hiring and supervision of staff, compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act), personnel management (payroll and attendance) and special projects management, including serving as Language Access Coordinator.

Primary Duties

  • Prepares, manages, and controls the Court of Common Pleas’ budget throughout the year.
  • Presents the budget to the County Commissioners with the President Judge and the District Court Administrator.
  • Authorizes and processes all purchase requisitions for the Court.
  • Manages recruitment, hiring, supervision, and discipline of personnel. Responsible for the assignment and training of judicial substitute assistants and on-call personnel.
  • Processes all personnel paperwork for court employees.
  • Monitors and orders all supplies; maintains an inventory of court equipment. Receives and processes all repair service calls; work orders; monitors Westlaw use and invoicing.
  • Acts as court liaison with Supervision Services, Adult and Juvenile Probation, Domestic Relations, Jury Board, and other court offices on fiscal and human resource issues.
  • Serves as Language Access coordinator, overseeing scheduling and invoicing of Interpreters for the Court.
  • Coordinates investiture ceremonies and receptions.
  • Responsible for special projects requested by the President Judge, Board of Judges, or District Court Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field; AND
  • Three years of varied office management or staff work including professional-level experience in budgeting, procurement, and human resources.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered.
