Description

The AOPC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated accountant to join our team. This professional position is responsible for the proper and timely recording of all financial transactions and the general ledger. The selected candidate will work independently under the direction of the Accounting Administrator.

Primary Duties

  • Reviews accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Reviews and/or prepares all journal entries.
  • Assists with month-end and fiscal year-end close with little supervision.
  • Research and rectify account discrepancies.
  • Prepares/accumulates information necessary for the independent annual audit.
  • Prepares non-payroll tax-related filings.
  • Assess department procedures and identify process improvements.
  • Coordinate ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in accounting, preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training may be considered.

Additional Requirements/Preferences

  • A minimum of two years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) required.
  • Attentive, aptitude to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong organizational, planning, administrative, and communication skills.
  • A satisfactory criminal background check is required.
