Description
Looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers to join the AOPC Finance team. As an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will work independently under the direction of the Accounting Administrator, and collaboratively with department colleagues and members of the Unified Judicial System. You will be responsible for reviewing, coding, and posting accounts payable and accounts receivable along with allocating expenses across departments.
Primary Duties
- Reviews, codes, and processes cash receipts and cash disbursements on a timely basis.
- Processes transactions accurately, completely, and in conformance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepares adjustment and allocation journal entries.
- Posts payrolls and medical benefits to the general ledger.
- Assists with maintaining and updating written accounting unit work procedures as it to job duties.
- Works directly with vendors to obtain W-9s, answer questions, and resolve discrepancies.
- Provides support for other fiscal operations and general administrative support, as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records.
- Associate's degree in accounting preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered.
Additional Requirements/Preferences
- Satisfactory criminal background check required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Adobe.
- Strong organizational, planning, administrative, and communications skills and the ability to multi-task.
