The Pennsylvania Courts announced today that Luzerne County Common Pleas Judge Tarah Toohil has been appointed to serve as a member of the Joint State Government Commission’s Advisory Committee on Domestic Relations Law.

Judge Toohil was nominated by committee chairman, Judge Dan Clifford, and confirmed as a member. The Advisory Committee helps review and shape family law policy throughout Pennsylvania.

“It’s an honor to serve on the Advisory Committee and help improve our domestic relations laws,” Judge Toohil said. “This work helps protect families across Pennsylvania as we review legal standards to be sure they are fair, effective, and responsive.”

The Joint State Government Commission is the Pennsylvania General Assembly’s nonpartisan research and policy agency. It studies key issues in the state and provides lawmakers with research, recommendations, and proposed legislation on many public policy topics. The Advisory Committee on Domestic Relations Law focuses on Pennsylvania’s domestic relations laws, such as divorce, child custody, and family law procedures.
