HARRISBURG, Sept. 9, 2008 — The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania today announced the reappointments of three members of the Civil Procedural Rules Committee. Cumberland County Judge Kevin A. Hess, former Superior Court Judge Robert C. Daniels, of Montgomery County, and James R. Ronca, Esq., of Dauphin County, were each reappointed to a term that expires June 30, 2011. The court also designated Huntingdon County President Judge Stewart L. Kurtz as chair, and Nancy H. Fullam, Esq., of Philadelphia, as vice chair. Senior Judge R. Stanton Wettick, of Allegheny County, was designated a member emeritus of the committee to serve at the pleasure of the court. The committee was created in 1937 by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to assist in the promulgation and administration of the rules of civil procedure governing civil actions for the Courts of Common Pleas. The work of the committee, which is the oldest of the Supreme Court's committees, covers all aspects of civil practice before the Courts of Common Pleas except those relating to the Orphans' Court and Family Court divisions. The Supreme Court appoints committee members to three-year terms. Each member may serve a maximum of two consecutive full terms. The committee membership consists of 16 lawyers and judges, including one ex-officio member.
