Pennsylvania Supreme Court Announces Changes on Civil Procedural Rules Committee

HARRISBURG, June 28, 2001 — The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania today announced the appointment of a new member, and other organizational changes, to the Civil Procedural Rules Committee. Heather S. Heidelbaugh, Esq., of Allegheny County was newly appointed to the committee for a term of three years, beginning June 30, 2001. The following members were reappointed to three-year terms, beginning June 30: Mark A. Aronchick, Esq., Philadelphia; Edward G. O’Connor, Esq., Allegheny County; Thomas A. Sprague, Esq., Philadelphia; Clayton A. Sweeney, Esq., Allegheny County and Kevin H. Wright, Esq., Montgomery County. The Hon. R. Stanton Wettick Jr. was named chair of the committee and Joseph H. Foster, Esq., vice chair, beginning June 30. The Civil Procedural Rules Committee was created in 1937 by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to assist in the preparation, revision, promulgation, publication and administration of civil actions at law and in equity for the Courts of Common Pleas. The committee, which is the oldest of the Supreme Court's committees, covers all aspects of civil practice before the Courts of Common Pleas except those relating to the Orphans' Court and Family Court divisions. The Supreme Court appoints committee members to three-year terms. Each member may serve a maximum of two full terms. The committee membership consists of 14 lawyers and judges plus one ex officio member.
