Pennsylvania Supreme Court Appoints Bigley to the Judicial Conduct Board

HARRISBURG, August 24, 2001 — The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania today announced the appointment of Leo P. Bigley, of Allegheny County, to the Judicial Conduct Board. The board consists of three judges, three lawyers and six non-lawyers. Half of the board members are chosen by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and the remainder by the governor. Board members investigate complaints of judicial misconduct and, if warranted, file formal charges against an accused judge with the Court of Judicial Discipline. Bigley is a non-lawyer. His term expires August 16, 2005.
