Pennsylvania and Virginia students earn top honors in NCSC’s Civics Education Essay Contest

Two Pennsylvania students took top honors in a National Center for State Courts annual civics education essay contest.
This year’s question was “What does it mean to be a U.S. citizen?” A record number of students nationwide participated — more than 700.
An eighth grader at North Brandywine Middle School in Coatesville, and a 12th-grade homeschool student from Evans City, (Butler County) received top honors.
