County Email Requests
To establish access to internet available county email servers through the MDJS Citrix System, certain specifications must be met.
The purpose of the following specifications is to allow MDJs and office staff access to county-based email systems offered through a web interface. The following requirements are necessary to insure that the highest levels of security are achieved:
- Software Requirements. Microsoft Exchange 2003 or higher with Outlook Web Access (OWA) enabled. Web Server with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Virus Protection Software operational on the mail server with current virus definitions. Other software may be acceptable provided that security and administrative specifications can be accommodated.
- Security Specifications. The county must provide a copy of their current Internet and email security guidelines or policy. There must be a section that specifically addresses attachments. AOPC retains the right to block specific file attachments. Those extensions that are blocked will be maintained in separate documentation and will be made available to the county for review upon request. The county is encouraged to also block specific files to assist with both county and AOPC server security.
- Administrative Specifications. The county must provide training and assistance, specific to the use of email, to those county employees who will be accessing the email system. The county must provide an administrative and technical contact to AOPC for the purpose of reviewing security issues, potential down time alerts, addition or deletion of users, and any other administrative or technical matter that may arise. The county must provide a list of those county employees that will be using the email system.
