Skill Building Workshops

After successfully passing the written examination. Candidates are required to register and complete a Skill Building Workshop. These workshops are designed to introduce the skills required for court interpreting and gain valuable tools required for a court interpreter.

Foreign Language Interpreters

Foreign Language interpreters will register with the ICP for a 2 Day Virtual Weightlifting for Court Interpreters workshop that provides intensive practice in all three modes of interpretation: simultaneous, consecutive and sight translation. Check our program calendar for available dates. Registration is completed with the Interpreter Certification Program and the fee of $200 must be paid at the time of registration.

Sign Language Interpreters

Sign Language Interpreters will register with the ICP for a 2 Day Virtual Foundations of ASL Court Interpreting workshop which provides an overview of the legal system for ASL Interpreters. ASL Interpreters will learn the roles and protocols as well as the legal preparation required. Registration information will be provided by the Interpreter Certification Program. The fee at the time of registration is $300.
